Hope everyone has had the best Christmas and is currently looking forward to having the best New Years. I think it’s so important to reflect over the year as it goes by, especially at the point when New Years is in order. I think most off us can agree that 2016 has been a rubbish year, in general. For me it has been personally a really tough year with it’s highs and lows, Successes and failures, proud moments and regrets. However, the last thing I wanted to do was draw all the negatives from this year into the new year, an also, I don’t want to look back on 2016 thinking it was all bad. So I guess it’s time to count some blessings.
This year I’ve been so incredibly lucky to meet some of my FAVOURITE PEOPLE in the world and in the industry that I’m currently trying to break into which is the blogging industry. My first role model that I met this year was the beautiful Sheida Fashionista, Met her in London on Bond Street, and i can only describe meeting her as a motivation boost! She is so lovely and humble in person, and really listened to me and my journey so far with blogging and gave me the most amazing tips. Not only that, but she reminded me why I should never give up on my dreams and aspirations in life. I was also incredibly blessed to have met her a second time in Dubai, Dubai Mall a few months later and she remembered me! Not only did she remember me but she remembered everything I told and asked how it was going and was kind enough to share a few moments with me on her snapchat. These are moments that I will never forget, and that make me so happy. The second person I’ve been lucky enough to meet this year was Sarah Ashcroft, as many of you may know she’s killing it! And she’s also my age, so when she spoke to me about never giving up and being myself, I could really relate. She too, was so humble and energetic and walked away feeling so amazing and happy!
If you follow me on Instagram or watch me on Youtube, you’ll know that I’ve been the luckiest girl in the world and have the most amazing partner ever. I don’t share my personal life a lot on Youtube, Instagram or even social media in general but here go’s! So Nikhil and I have been together 2 years, he’s 25 and I’m 21 and although a lot of people may think that may be a little bit young, we’ve been the best of friends for the longest time. He’s been there for me through my absolute worst and my very best moments this year and I couldn’t have been more happier to have him as my partner. He’s been my doctor, therapist, best friend, confidant, partner in crime, best friend, and most of all my rock.
I wouldn’t be able to get through this year if it wasn’t for him. That includes university life, I’m so blessed to step into my second year at university, I’m really not the academic type so it’s been so difficult to motivate myself through it and there have literally been times where Nikhil has helped me do my university work! Not only that but my blogging life has grown to a point where I never thought it would. I never thought I would get to the point where I was getting brands that actually wanted to work with me or collaborate with me, and although it may not seem like much it means the world to me and I’m truly grateful. I started out my blogging and Instagram wondering where it would take me, and I’m so proud and grateful that it’s taken a step into the right direction.
Lastly, I’m so grateful for all the blessings that have come my way this year, from my very first collaboration with I-ZIP to my latest collaborations with Coach New York and Dermalogica. Meeting my favourite bloggers like Sheida Fashionista, Sarah Ashcroft and Shirley Eniang and lastly, travelling around the world to Rotterdam, Paris, Dubai and New York. Most of the year I had a rough tough time, but looking back now at all the blessings and positives is really therapeutic and just reminds me that maybe things weren’t so bad at all. I can’t wait to have a great 2017, my goals are to be enlightened, passionate and for my growth game to 100%. I want to travel more and have a great third year of my relationship with Nikhil. I’m not going to set any resolutions apart from the ones above.
I hope you all have an amazing New Year guys, make 2017 yours.
