Hope you’re all good and well. So it’s the start of the new year 2017, and I feel like already in the first 5 days I’ve grown so much as a person and human being. I literally feel as if a lightbulb went off on new years eve and I realised that I’m no longer going to give any time, attention or energy to negative, petty or small irrelevant things. Not going to lie, 2016 was one of my worst years, and I’m pretty determined to make 2017 one of my best. Here’s what I’ve learnt already:
- Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
Last year I found myself getting so worked up and annoyed over every little small thing, and honestly it was the most draining thing ever. Mentally it wasn’t healthy at all and I found myself so unhappy, but most of all, entirely un-focused. Then it hit me that I was so done with getting annoyed with so and so who said something rude, or so and so or cut me off at the lights, or so and so who always would call me up with their negative waste – and more over I was over it. Now I don’t indulge in anything negative and I don’t even give it time, energy or speak it into existent. Have faith in yourself and stay positive; don’t sweat the small stuff.
- Blogging is a lifestyle
So through out my one year of blogging, I realised I was enjoying it, but not enjoying it as much as I felt I should. Reason being is I realised blogging is a lifestyle and I wasn’t really connecting with it, or in other words I was letting other things stress me out so much that I wasn’t enjoying the lifestyle that I aspire to / want. So I decided to play my soulful house music (all the time), wake up and work out (everyday), dedicate a passionate amount of time to my blogging and Youtubing, and light my candles with no delay.
- There are bigger forces in the world that you can’t control. Don’t worry.
I realised that whether you believe in God, the universe or an alternative higher power, that there is always one rule. That there are always bigger forces going on around you that you could never comprehend or understand or even get to grips with. So don’t worry about a thing, everything will turn out the way it’s supposed to.
- Believe in Yourself
One of the greatest keys to life is belief in yourself. As females this can be really difficult with everything in the media and on social media too. Personally for me, what helped me believe in myself is believing that a higher power believed in me. (I believe in good energy, karma and the universe. I do believe there is a god but I don’t belong to a particular religion). But once, I felt that ‘God’ had faith in me, believed in me and had everything in control, I felt belief in myself and secure in my life and where things are going to head. Believe in god. Believe in life. But most importantly believe in yourself.
- Life is beautiful
Enjoy the beauty, enjoy your blessings however big or small. Have things to look forward to, travel, shop, eat and enjoy your downtime.
