So today is about day two and three in our Dubai Travel Diary. Day 2 was certainly really fun! We woke up, had breakfast, went to the pool but decided it was too noisy and that we couldn’t relax properly with screaming kids around. (FYI If you’re looking for some serious relaxation with your girls or your partner, I would really recommend investing in a adult only hotel; you really don’t want to be dealing with getting splashed and screaming everywhere). So we decided to go to one of our favourite parts of the beach which is The Walk in JBR.
I personally love this area as they have so many restaurants, and designer and high street shops like, Victoria Secret, Roberto Cavalli, Sephora and Laduree. This part of the beach is definitely really busy, but the atmosphere is so lovely that you barely notice and you definitely don’t get disturbed! The little markets going along the black sell snacks like peanuts or dates, or you can buy a fresh coconut to drink, as well as Kaftans, sunnies, umbrellas (for shade), t-shirts and much more.
We ate a P.F. Chang’s as I was really feeling Chinese food (my favourite cuisine) and also, being in DownTown the night before, my hopes were made up and then dashed when I saw the first Ping Pong restaurant and told it was still under construction! After eating, we headed to some of the boutiques, bought a towel from a beach boutique and headed down to the sea front, for some beach fun! Time went so quickly, and before we realised we had been swimming in the ocean for four hours plus! We bought coconuts and got someone to take photos of us as the sun set.
Today, was literally just a pool day and tanning session, with a bit of wandering around a few different shopping malls that we don’t usually go to, like Mall of the Emirates and the Alguhair Centre. Not to mention, today I definitely went brown! Tan game will be super strong my the end of the vacay!
P.S. Update: In the last blog post, I told you guys about how next Monday we will be going to another hotel in the Marina, last night that changed. We decided to stay in a hotel in Downtown because we miss it down there. The first time we ever came to Dubai we stayed in a penthouse in the Damac Maison Hotel in the centre of DownTown Dubai with a 5 minute walk away from Dubai Mall…. so we decided to go back! Honestly I recommend anyone going on holiday for more than a week to try out different hotel and explore a bit, it’s so exciting! More photos are on my instagram @stylebyfrancesca.
