So some of you who were following my blog from when I first started will know that I originally started out with really curly hair. My hair is naturally very curly as I’m mixed race (my dad is Caribbean and my mum is English). However, over the last two years I’ve had bonds put in, I’ve coloured it a million times, I’ve used clip in extensions and it’s all taken a tole on my hair. So I’m now at a point where there has been a lot of breakage and my hair is super short (shoulder length or bob length) and I’ve lost a lot of my curl pattern.
Currently, my hair is super curly at the roots and at the back, wavy in the mid length and dead straight at the ends. Now I’m 22 years old now and I’ve actually conquered a few things in my life that I wasn’t happy about, one is my acne and skin (which has calmed down considerably). But I thought to myself if I don’t start looking after my hair now I’m pretty much doomed! Okay, albeit I’m being a bit dramatic but I’m fed up of straight hair, fed up of extensions and fed up of not seeing my curls. I feel like my curls is who I am and it’s one of my strongest characteristics and I’ve completely lost it. So over the next year, 2 years, 3 years or however long it may take – I’m on a mission to get my curls back and to really pamper my hair and start looking after it. I’ve been watching loads of tutorials and doing tons of research on products, how to wash your hair, how to style it and big do’s and font’s which I’m going to try and whatever works best for me I’ll be sure to write a post and film a youtube video on it.
Down below are old photos of how my hair used to be, these range from the age of 15 to 18.
This is how my hair looks currently:
The photos above I actually have a leave in conditioner mask in – hence the greasy look! A new post will be coming soon with updated photos and products and stuff I’m using and what I like and don’t like. I felt it would be a good idea to document this journey, seeing as there may be many girls that are in the same boat and want to see someone else’s experience first hand.
Hope you enjoyed the post guys!
